About Us

 
Eighteen years ago, all within about a two-week period, Jeff and I said, “I do”, spent our honeymoon on a houseboat on Dale Hollow Reservoir near Byrdstown, Tennessee and moved from Indiana into a small rental property in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.  Since that time, we have had two beautiful children and have moved four times, each time giving way to urban life & subdivisions, while searching for something a little more secluded and quiet.  Then we stumbled onto a small piece of land that seemed to offer the best of both worlds.  So we purchased the acreage, cleared a portion of the land and built a home and small hobby farm which we now call ASS Me Y Farm.

Our son and daughter attend the local middle school and high school here in Maury County and we could not be more proud of the young adults they are becoming.  While our daughter, 16, strives to find her place in this world, working odd jobs here and there to earn spending money for gas and to supplement her increasingly growing wardrobe, our 14-year-old son is busy participating in motocross racing.  He and his father travel frequently to attend local motocross races and they find great pleasure and excitement in this sport.

 

Jeff and I also work full-time jobs, but the majority of our free time is spent catering to our children or taking care of the farm and the animals that dwell there.  While it appears that we can never fully escape urban development, as Columbia continues to grow in every direction, we are constantly looking for ways to build our farm and maintain the serenity it provides. As we look forward to our retirement years together, it is our dream that our small hobby farm down in the holler will always be home for our family and a place to enjoy quiet moments with our friends and animals.
